Because of my love for all things rock, I enjoy activities that allow me to interact with geology. Activities such as hiking and camping. I love being in the outdoors and getting lost in the wilderness. Like John Muir once said, "In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks." Every now and again the mountains call to me, and a good weekend spent exploring does wonders. If you've never tried it, I highly suggest it.
Another hobby of mine is photography. I really enjoy photography, and it's a great excuse to get in the truck on the weekend and head out without a plan or destination. Just looking for a good picture. I really like landscape photography, which most of my pictures are. I enjoy looking back at those shots and remembering the adventure on which the picture was taken. Sometimes I go with friends, sometimes I venture out alone, it all depends on the experience that I'm after. I also enjoy night photography, however, it takes much more planning in order to set up a good shot. You have to know the phase of the moon and when it will become visible among other things. However, a successful night makes the juice worth the squeeze.
